Hand turned urn made from Sycamore with a top of Quanacaste (Elephant Ear Tree)
The urn is full of natural character, including some spalting in the wood.
There is some tiger striping in the wood which is a natural characteristic of Sycamore once the wood has dried.
In two areas on the urn I was able to keep some of the bark and the color transitions from the grey tan of the wood to a darker brown of the bark.
Several knots in the wood where there were branches also gives a transition between the color and the texture of the grain.
The bowl is finished with a Polyurethane fully protecting the wood and giving it a nice soft shine.
